Since its foundation, the journal Lessons Learned has developed into an important platform for quality-assured reflection and academic debate on digital and hybrid higher education didactic innovations. The aim of the journal is not only to document experiences from practice as well as from research and development contexts, but also to critically categorise them, think them through and make them accessible to others.
With its consistent focus on Diamond Open Access, scientific quality as well as professional and methodological openness, Lessons Learned fully fulfils the central requirements of the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). Inclusion in the DOAJ is therefore a logical next step for the journal.
The DOAJ is one of the most important international databases for quality-checked open access journals. A listing there is not only a sign of scientific integrity, but also a contribution to the visibility and reception of our articles in the international discourse. For authors, this means greater reach and a more sustainable anchoring of their work in academic exchange. For readers and libraries, the DOAJ provides important orientation in an increasingly confusing publication environment.
The application for inclusion in the DOAJ has been officially submitted. We are delighted that our journal fulfils the formal and content-related requirements for a DOAJ listing - and we are looking forward to the upcoming review by the DOAJ team with excitement and confidence.
No matter how the process goes: For us, the application is a visible expression of our self-image - as an open, quality-orientated journal that promotes exchange on digital higher education.
